    Department The Global Technology Network (GTN) has a vacancy for a Trade Compliance Analyst within the Process Excellence organization in the Knowledge Management team. This role is a global role based in Bergen op Zoom (Netherlands) or Sittard-Geleen (Netherlands). The GTN is an organization within the Technology & Innovation (T&I) function and is responsible for the processes, systems, and communications that enable the overall T&I organization to function effectively and efficiently, including providing support for stage-gate processes, metrics, ISO certifications, Lean Six Sigma, Knowledge Management, Information Services (library), and Trade Compliance. The Technology Trade Compliance team improves business processes to maximize T&I knowledge sharing while ensuring global compliance to international trade regulations. The three main focal areas are training, export control classification processes, and information management processes. Purpose of the Role: Ensure Technology/Engineering business processes enable compliance with international trade regulations including multi-national Export Control regulations, military regulations such as U.S. ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), and global economic sanctions regulations. The Trade Compliance Analyst is a member of the Process Excellence group in the Technology & Innovation (T&I) organization, but collaborates closely with peers in Legal Affairs and Supply Chain. The T&I organization spans multiple global sites located in the following countries: Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, India, China, Japan, and the United States. The Challenge • Develop sustainable business processes to classify products and technology data with respect to multi-national dual-use and military export control, U.S. ITAR, economic sanctions regulations, and other related international trade regulations. • Implement global export control classification processes to determine and document the export control classification number (ECCN) of products and technology. Determine implications and requirements based on all relevant government regulations and implement improvements to associated processes within the global Technology & Innovation organization, such as management of R&D technical data. Lead the Technology and Innovation Classification Team and work with the SABIC International Trade Compliance team to drive process changes to ensure compliance. • Develop and implement plan to ingrain export control awareness in Technology and Innovation culture through internal training and audits. • Responsible for leading trade compliance training and audits related to classification processes and Technology & Innovation personnel. • Accountable to drive initiatives to identify and disseminate best practices and harmonize towards global ways-of-working, including rolling out best practices across global Technology and Application centers. • Participate in developing and implementing global site control plans for T&I locations that handle export controlled goods and technology. • Coordinate closely with other Trade Compliance Analysts, the Trade Compliance Team Leader, Trade Compliance Specialist, Legal Affairs Department, and IT personnel as needed. • Serve as a key contact for classification of products and technology. Your Profile • PhD, MS, or BA/BS • More than 5 years relevant experience required • Extensive knowledge of U.S. or Wassenaar-based export control regulations desired • Strong familiarity in analyzing, understanding, and applying the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) and ITAR regulations, including ECCN determination, license requirements, deemed exports, and technology data transfer • Knowledge of non-U.S. export regulations is a plus • Experience working in a corporate trade compliance environment, or government service in an agency or ministry with export controls responsibility such as U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security, is desired • Creative, with passion for Technology and attention to detail • Committed, responsible, able to work in a global and virtual team or individually, and willing to work under pressure • Strong oral and written communication skills, highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision Further Information All applicants must be a citizen of a Group B country as defined in the U.S. EAR. Transaction Analyst
Transaction Analysis is a team within the Market Risk function of Group Risk Management, responsible for identifying and quantifying risks present in investment projects, structured transactions and new sales /traded products for the entire Vattenfall organisation. The role involves working closely with project managers/ originators and functional experts (e.g. legal, tax, strategy) with a view to strengthening business cases where possible, whilst making transparent the risk profile of proposed transactions. A key element is providing Senior Management with independent advice to support the decision-making process. About the department The Vattenfall Market Risk team, part of Group Risk Management is seeking a Transaction Analyst to join the Transaction Analysis group. Located at each of the Vattenfall trade-floors and other key locations, Market Risk is responsible for ensuring the transparency of market risk across the Vattenfall Group; including Vattenfall Energy Trading (VET), Treasury and the Business Groups. The Market Risk group is additionally responsible for preparing independent risk reviews for the EGM which describe the risk reward implications of proposed transactions.Responsibilities You will have several responsibilities. These include reviewing investment proposals to examine robustness of business case by identifying potential risks to key value drivers e.g. operational, market, legal, credit, reputational, regulatory. and propose possible mitigation strategies. Also this is done by validating valuation methodologies and financial models used to assess the economic viability of investment projects including carrying out sensitivity analyses.You will review contracts to ensure consistency with valuation and commercial aims. Equally you will review new product proposals/complex structured deals/sourcing strategies to ensure operational feasibility and risk/reward balance is appropriately reflected in product/deal construct. This is done by pro-actively seeking to improve deal structure from a risk mitigation/ portfolio impact viewpoint. To ensure proposals are compliant with risk policies and defined risk appetite and to ensure the contract is readily implementable (with regards to hedging, operational execution etc.)You will provide written recommendations and advice to decision-makers at the most senior level of the organisation. This is done by building a network of contacts throughout the organisation. You will raise risk awareness and transparency throughout the organisation. Also if necessary, you will coach junior members of the team. Job Requirements - First degree (minimum) in engineering, finance, business or other quantitative degree. A combined degree with both technical and economic modules is an advantage. In other words being highly numerate and analytical. - Knowledge of energy markets and energy value chain preferred. - The ability to quickly grasp complex commercial deal structures/concepts. A curious and analytical mind with the ability to think out of the box including a structured and result-oriented approach. - Good judgment and integrity at all times. - Customer awareness. - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with commercial/technical colleagues alike. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German. Dutch and/or Swedish language skills are an advantage. - Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn, work as part of a team and make continuous improvements.
